I’ve always been a picky eater. I’ve been better since marrying my eat-anything husband but I still avoid eating anything green if I can! Kale and spinach are at the top of that list! Luckily for me, my toddler takes after his dad in the eating department. So he will eat or drink anything I give him. But any picky kid would surely love this green smoothie because it turns out red or purple instead of green and it tastes as good as it looks.
I created this green smoothie in 2012 and I’ve been perfecting it since then. There are still a few add ins I want to try, but I just haven’t gotten to it yet. I try to make this green smoothie for my family daily. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Not Green Green Smoothie

Ingredients

1 Apple
1 banana
1 handful kale
1 handful spinach
3-4 cups orange juice
1 cups frozen berry blend
4 large frozen strawberries
1 handful of raw almonds
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

Directions

Blend in blender using the smoothie setting. It’s best served immediately, but we have kept it for up to two days in the fridge.

Notes: Occasionally we add other things when we have them, like a few baby carrots or pieces of pineapple!
If there are strawberries in your berry blend, you can do 1 1/2 cups instead of 1. My berry blend is only raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries.
If you don’t have a smoothie setting, any setting will do. Just make sure it starts at a low speed and accelerates as everything blends together.

What do you include in your smoothie?
