I originally wrote this post as I was shopping for my post-pregnancy and nursing wardrobe. Most of the clothes I wore in previous years didn’t fit anymore because I lost more baby weight and I was no longer nursing. It has since been so nice to dress without making accommodations for any other bodies! Now I have several outfits from last year that I can wear again but I still decided to explore Amazon to see if there was anything I wanted to add to my Fall wardrobe!

Summer is more than half way over and in this Utah heat, I’m day dreaming about cool Fall days. I love everything about Fall. The weather, the beginning of the holiday season, back to school supplies, and, above all, the CLOTHES. I love the shorts and dresses in Spring and Summer but nothing compares to sweaters and layering clothes!

Before I show you what I’m looking at this year, I want to tell you why you should shop for clothes on Amazon too, especially if you are a mom!

Why You Should Shop For Clothes On Amazon

Free shipping and returns. If you are a Prime Member, buying clothes on Amazon isn’t much of a risk since you can easily return the items at no extra cost.

No taking kids to the store, or worse, the mall. My kids are pretty well behaved, especially when we’re out and about. But when I try to look at clothes and I have them with me, I end up making impulse decisions and I end up not loving what I buy when I get home.

Trying clothes on at home. Once upon a time, I enjoyed shopping and trying on clothes in the dressing room. Now, even if I don’t have the kids with me, I don’t enjoy it as much. If I have the kids with me, I feel rushed to get out of there before they lose patience. If by some miracle, I’m shopping alone, I feel like trying on clothes is a waste of my time away.

Getting packages is awesome. Maybe this is super millennial of me, but it’s true. I LOVE getting packages. 90% of the time I can’t remember exactly what I ordered, so the slight surprise is really fun for me. I saw a meme on facebook the other day and I was instantly jealous. There were literally over 100 Amazon packages on the doorstep. I hope someday I can have a fraction of that many packages delivered at once!

Fall Essential Clothes For Moms

Before I show you what I’m looking at this year, I must say something. I am NOT a fashion expert! I am just a stay at home mom who really likes to buy clothes. When making this list, I came up with the categories I thought were essential for a Fall wardrobe, then searched around amazon and added to this list what I thought was cute. It’s that simple.

I am saying this both to warn you that these clothes may or may not be “in style” but also to give other moms confidence choose clothes for them selves and look good. If I can do it, so can you. I promise! The most important thing to remember is to choose clothes that you feel comfortable in and give you confidence! With that said, here’s what I’m looking at buying this year!

Sweaters

Who doesn’t love sweater weather?? I don’t remember caring much for sweaters much as a kid but now I LOVE THEM. Oversized, fitted, color block, with the sleeves rolled up a bit or with them covering my hands a bit. Sweaters are so versatile and comfortable.

Cardigans

I have always loved cardigans! I feel like I wear them a little more fashionably now as an adult than I did as a teenager though. I only have one or two I love so I will definitely be ordering a couple more soon. Cardigans are perfect for the days in early Fall when the mornings and evenings are cold but mid day is still pretty warm. As it gets colder, they are great for layering.

Jackets

Jackets of all weights come out early in the Fall here in Utah. The mornings and evenings can be pretty chilly. I don’t have any jackets I love so these are high on my list for what to buy this year!

Long Sleeve Shirts

Long sleeve shirts are also very versatile. They can be worn on their own, under sweaters and cardigans, and for lounging around the house on cold days. Last year I stocked up on thermal long sleeves so I could wear them under everything.

Dresses

I love wearing dresses in the Fall and they are my favorite to shop for in any season. It is super easy to dress them up or down based on the occasion and which way the weather is leaning. Dresses are the perfect Fall outfit with a cardigan or boots!

Sweatshirts

Sweaters can easily be dressed up or down but sweatshirts are the perfect Fall casual hang out top. I would wear any of these with leggings and be prepared to stay home, roam around Target, or watch my boys play at the park. It’s important to me to have several cute and comfortable sweatshirts in my Fall wardrobe!

Sweat Pants & Yoga Pants

Sweaters and sweatshirts are usually named the ultimate Fall clothes to hang out in but a couple comfortable pairs of sweat pants and endless yoga pants are a must for Fall. I love my name brand yoga pants from the mall but I’ve been trying to find a less expensive alternative to stock up on!

I had sections last year for jeans and accessories but I removed them for 2019. I really kind of hate wearing jeans and usually forget to wear accessories when I buy them. So I’m avoiding buying either this year and hopefully I can avoid wearing jeans altogether in my wardrobe this Fall!
